I am so stoked to get out to UCCS and start classes there. I have a friend who has been out there recently and he is constantly raving about how cool it is and how much I'm going to like it. I'm excited to get out there and meet a whole new community of people. I wouldn't say I am nervous about anything going into this, but I definitely have thought about how I am basically a freshman there and have to figure a bunch of things out. A big personal goal I have for this experience is to make a connection that will be useful for me down the road and lead to a possible career path. School wise, I pretty much just hope to keep up good grades and I would also like to study something exercise science related that I couldn't study as well at USC (like how high altitude affects cardiorespiratory endurance for athletes). I would say my bucket list for this trip is mainly mountain bike related and I am excited to push the limits of riding in the best mountain biking state in the nation. NSE doesn't quite fit with my academic plan because I can't take very many EXSC classes at UCCS but I think it will be good for me to have a slower paced semester and be able to focus on work and having a job I will be able to come back to. I think going on exchange just to take classes in a cool place is a bit silly and half of the reason I took advantage of this opportunity was work/career related so I am really excited to capitalize on that. Only got a few weeks left in Boone before we hit the road so stay tuned...
